AI infrastructure is creating a new retained-risk problem for boards, lenders and corporate risk teams.

Large data-centre projects now combine construction risk, delay in start-up, property damage, business interruption, power dependency, cooling failure, cyber exposure, natural catastrophe accumulation and contractual liability.

Annual insurance placement still matters, but so does the structure that holds the retained layer.
